Australia's 3G Network is shutting down Upgrade to 4G to stay connected
Since the end of 2023, the 3G Mobile Network in Australia has started to shut down. The 3G Network will shut down progressively until September 2024, depending on the Network provider. This means that all devices that rely on the 3G Network for communication will need to be upgraded to stay connected.
What does this mean for your Lift?
Lift Emergency Communications is a legally essential and vital component of your lift system. This ensures that passengers in the unlikely event of a lift breakdown have communications with a lift companies call centre, ensuring the most effecient response to the release of any passengers.
Its operation is dependent on the mobile network and the upcoming closure of this network may affect certain Schindler Australia customers that currently rely on the 3G network for communication.
